2007 Guandu International Outdoor Sculpture Festival

The 2007 Guandu International Outdoor Sculpture Festival takes place in the Guandu Nature Park in Taipei City, from April 11 to September 15, 2007.

This 2007 festival is the second outdoor art exhibition at the Guandu Nature Park. The festival began in 2006 with 6 international artists displaying their works. It was such a success that in 2007, the festival has expanded. A total of 12 artists -- 10 from other countries and 2 from Taiwan -- have created their installations on site at the Guandu Nature Park, using materials from the surroundings. During the time they were working in the park, each artists had several local volunteers to help him or her. It was a challenge for everyone involved, with so many different languages and cultures represented. The artists needed to quickly get used to a new environment and find what they required to create their works.

All the art works were completed on April 21, the Earth Day. Local and international visitors and their families are welcome to come to the Guandu Nature Park and enjoy the beauty of these art works.
