Taipei International Sporting Goods Show
The Taipei International Sporting Goods Show (TaiSPO) takes place at the Taipei World Trade Center from April 9 to 12, 2007. In Taiwan, the health and fitness and sporting goods industry is second only to the defense industry in the use of advanced composite materials. While the industry constantly incorporates new technologies and applications, it continues to grow steadily as designs and materials match the sophistication demanded by consumers. This is resulting in products that are safer, more efficient, useful, durable, environmentally friendly, and just plain fun. More importantly, it brings rising prospects for Taiwan's manufacturers as the market continues to expand worldwide across new geographical regions and demographic segments. Taiwan has long been a reliable, valuable and valued producer of sporting goods, fitness products, and leisure equipment. Every year, the nation exports large amounts of its quality, well-designed output to leading markets such the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom. In some market segments, such as golf equipment, Taiwan is downright dominant, with a 70 percent market share. This is because Taiwan offers superior product design, advanced materials, sophisticated manufacturing techniques and quality fishing, rapid delivery and flexible production quantity. Taiwan is able to merge applications with its world-leading electronics industry. The Taipei International Sporting Goods Show offers a shortcut to the exciting growing market of sporting goods, which is projected to expand at 5 percent annually for the foreseeable future. The show highlights many of the ways in which Taiwan's manufacturers are contributing to increasing product sophistication with product awards and displays. Indeed, in recent years, the Taipei International Sporting Goods Show has emerged as an international trading post and Asia's leading multifaced showcase on the strength of participation by major manufacturers, sales agents and distributors, and buyers. These include Decathlon S.A., ASICS Tiger, ITO-YOKADO, Nissen, Carrefour, Nike, WAL-MART Global Procurement, Adidas-Salomon International Sourcing, TESCO International Sourcing, and Costco India.
