2005 Taipei International Invention Show and Technomart

The 2005 Taipei International Invention Show and Technomart is held in the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall from September 29 to October 2.

Taiwanese inventors have long earned respect from their peers in the international arena for their ingenuity and skill. For example, in the 2004 International Invention Exhibition held in Geneva, all of Taiwan's 23 entries captured prizes, in an impressive 27 categories, including four special internationally sponsored prizes, 12 gold medals, and the highly coveted Group Merit Award for the eleventh year in a row.

Taiwan holds 6,676 US patents as of 2003, ranking the fourth place in the world and the second in Asia, only after Japan. The nation's investment in technology research and development was 2.3% of GDP in 2002. Also in that year, Taiwanese researchers and scientists published some 10,381 papers worldwide.

The Taipei International Invention Show and Technomart features a wide range of new technology & innovative products, in the following categories: high technology, fiber optics, machinery, construction, safety equipment, environmental protection, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, transport and communications, household electronic appliances, hardware, agriculture, food, and textiles.

The show in 2005 also consists of other interesting events such as the Technology Innovation Pavilion, the Technology Mart, the Taipei Invention Awards, the Technology Matching Seminars, and the International IP Valuation and Financing Forum.
