Hakka council chief promotes TV channel

The Council for Hakka Affairs is set to launch The Hakka Channel on July 1, 2003. While the channel receives its entire funding from the government, the council hopes to see it financially independent in its fourth year. The Taipei Times's staff reporter Ko Shu-ling talked with the council's Chairwoman Yeh Chu-lan to find out more about the channel and why it's so important to set up a new TV channel for the nation's 4 million Hakka people.
