English teachers go on study tour

According to this article, the Ministry of Education has recently sponsored 41 English teachers from middle and elementary schools around Taiwan on a five-week overseas study tour in English-speaking countries. Precedence has been given to teachers who are working at schools in remote and rural areas and have never studied abroad.

While 21 teachers take part in a training program provided by the Georgetown University in the United States, another 20 teachers attend courses at the University of Sydney in Australia. This article gives more detailed information on the programs offered by these two universities.
