Photography contest captures Taiwan's soul
This article was written by Rita Fang and published by the Taiwan Journal on December 2, 2005. It features a recent photography contest titled "Health Taiwan", which was organized by the Government Information Office. The winners of this contest were recently announced and their photographs exhibited in the Taipei 101 building. The aim of the photography contest was to capture the diverse aspects of Taiwan in pictures. The contest was divided into two categories, "Life Taiwan" and "Technology Taiwan". In total, 55 photographs were chosen as winners, out of nearly 1,400 entries. The gold medal winner of the "Life Taiwan" category is a photograph titled "Happy Little Angels", which depicts a group of aboriginal children with their faces painted and wearing traditional costumes. The "Technology Taiwan" category did not yield any gold or silver medal winner, but had three photographs tie for the bronze. |
