Taiwan.com.au Portal conducts research projects for Australian and worldwide English-speaking Internet users on "anything Taiwan". There are three kinds of research projects: Internet Research, Qualitative Study, and Literature Review. The following are some of the research projects Taiwan.com.au Portal has conducted in the past:

• "Noodles, NOT Potatoes": Media Localization in Taiwan. This is a paper presented at the "Border Crossings: Popular, Mass and Global Culture" Symposium held at Australia's Monash University in October 2003.

• Finding Asia in Australia: A Focus on Language and Culture. This is a policy paper that investigates Asian languages and studies programs in Australian schools. It was submitted to Australian Commonwealth Government's LOTE (Languages Other Than English) Review in October 2002.

• A Qualitative Study of Popular Entertainment Brands among Taiwan's Infants, Preschoolers, Children, Tweens and Teenagers. This is an Internet research and qualitative study conducted for Australia's MerchantWise Pty Ltd in August 2002.

• After the Flood. This is a news review and reflection on the construction of the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River in Mainland China. It was published by Australia's The Good Weekend magazine in December 1997.
