Cabinet plans NT$300 b. for transport projects

The Cabinet has decided to inject NT$300 billion (US$8.7 billion) over a three-year period to expand investment in public construction projects, with the major focus placed on transport systems. Major projects selected for the NT$300 billion fund will include those that will enhance the islandwide transport framework. They include the mass rapid transit (MRT) system that will link The Chiang Kai-shek International Airport with the greater Taipei area, the bus rapid transit network in Taichung, and the MRT network in Kaohsiung.
