China Airlines expands fleet, beefs up pilot training program

China Airlines is Taiwan's largest carrier and the world's fifth largest cargo carrier in 2004. Facing the current boom in air travel in the Asia-Pacific region, the company has added new fleets and expanded international routes to meet the increased demand for both cargo and passenger services. It has also invested in airport terminal facilities in a number of Chinese cities to meet the cargo goods transport demand.

Meanwhile, the company has beefed up its recruitment drive for experienced pilots, and strengthened its training of qualified cadet pilots from within the company ranks.
