The Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) has approved the plan to build a second world trade center and exhibition hall in the Nangang area of Taipei. With a fund of NT$3.8 billion (US$110 million), the construction will begin in March next year with completion set for October 2005. The new exhibition hall, which will cover six hectares and accommodate 2,800 display booths, will augment Taiwan's existing international show grounds at the Taipei World Trade Center.
