"Taishang" gathering organized by SEF slated for June 1

 

This article was published by the Taiwan Headlines on May 26, 2006. It reports that the quasi-official Straits Exchange Foundation will host an amity meeting of China-based Taiwanese business operators on June 1, 2006, as part of the Dragon Boat Festival activities.

More than 200 representatives, including executives of major Taiwanese trade associations in China, Taiwanese entrepreneurs and economic and financial advisors, will attend the event. Taiwanese entrepreneurs in China are commonly referred to as "Taishang".

According tot he Straits Exchange Foundation, various government officials will also take part in the event to explain the government's basic policies on cross-strait ties and economic development. They will exchange views with Taiwanese businesspeople on a series of related topics.
