Representatives ink pact for greater China productivity platform
This article was published by the Taiwan Headlines on December 12, 2006. It reports that representatives of productivity promotion institutions from Taiwan, China and Hong Kong recently signed a letter of intent in Taipei, to jointly build up a greater China productivity and industrial operation and management platform. The three parties also agreed to hold an annual forum on the subject matter in the three places alternately, and to gradually incorporate Macao into the cooperative framework. Representatives of the China Productivity Center of Taiwan pointed out that under the current of globalization, regional economic integration is very important. With the common cultural background, knowledge about industrial operation and management in the greater Chinese area can be integrated, in the pattern of the promotion of common IT (information technology) standards in the greater Chinese region. Meanwhile, representatives of the Chinese Productivity Promotion Center Association pointed out that China used to rely on management knowledge of the United States, Europe and Japan. However, after two decades of economic development, China can start to summarize and integrate its unique industrial operation and management experience and to mull over how to apply Chinese culture in business management. Finally, representatives of the Hong Kong Productivity Council said that productivity is a core concept for economic activities and should be as concrete and akin to industries as possible. Specifically, productivity should incorporate various kinds of knowledge, in order to extend the scope of its application. The exchange of experiences in the four regions of the greater China region can help achieve this goal. According to the letter of intent for cooperation, the annual forum will sponsor seminars, collect individual cases, carry out research projects, publish theses, hold training courses, and build up long-term cooperative framework. |
