Chen meets South Korean delegates

President Chen Shui-bian recently received a South Korean delegation that has arrived at Taipei to attend the 30th Taiwan-South Korean economic conference. In 1991, South Korea helped Taiwan, China and Hong Kong to become members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) at the same time.

South Korea is Taiwan's fifth-largest trading partner. In 2004, bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$16.9 billion. Approximately 450,000 visits were made between the two countries in 2004.
