Raytheon gets Air Force contract for ROC missile defense system

This article was written by Gus Fetapoulos and published by the Taiwan Journal on July 11, 2005. It reports that the U.S. Defense Department recently announced it would supply Taiwan with key components of a high-tech missile and air-defense system. Massachusetts-based Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, the world's largest missile manufacturer, was awarded the contract with the U.S. Air Force to produce an early warning surveillance radar system for Taiwan. This U.S. decision is seen as aiming to help Taiwan defuse the missile threat from China.
