Factory enters the digital realm with tactical maps

The 401st plant of the combined logistics command is the sole supplier of military maps in Taiwan for decades. In recent years, as paper maps gradually lose their usefulness to digital ones, the 401st plant has managed to apply the concept and technology of "geographic information system" to the production of digital maps that can provide vital targeting information for high-tech weapons. This article is the summary of an interview between the 401st plant's director, Colonel Huang Chen-tse, and the Taipei Times.
