Taiwanese IT makers to organize PC trade fair in Beijing
This article was published by the Taiwan Headlines on October 4, 2006. It reports that the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), which represents the majority of Taiwanese suppliers of information-technology products, will organize a computer trade show in Beijing in 2007. According to the association, the trade show is preliminarily set to take place from December 5 to 8, 2007. It aims to help Taiwanese manufacturers tap the vast Chinese market. Indeed, the Taipei Computer Association opened an office in Beijing in September 2006 in line with this purpose. The event will be the second computer trade show organized in China by the association. It is estimated that Taiwanese exhibitors will use at least 500 booths at the Beijing show, about nine times the number they usually use at another Beijing fair organized by a Chinese association. Meanwhile, the planned Beijing show will be opened only to professional dealers, unlike the locally organized Beijing show that is also opened to end users. In order to increase the Beijing show's publicity, the association will also lure China's local suppliers and those from South Korea and Japan to demonstrate their products at the show. Indeed, the Beijing show will be co-organized by a Chinese association that represents 7,000 Chinese IT and electrical-equipment suppliers. The Taipei Computer Association is currently organizing a similar show in Suzhou, where it also has an office. |
