ATVs to power up at upcoming 2006 Taiwan Motorcycle Show

This article was published by the Taiwan Headlines on June 7, 2006. It report that the 2006 Taiwan International Motorcycle Industry Show (Motorcycle Taiwan 2006) will take place at the Taipei World Trade Center from October 27 to 29, 2006. Many major all terrain vehicle (ATV) makers in Taiwan are scheduled to demonstrate their latest products at the show.

According to the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, which organizes the show, Motorcycle Taiwan 2006 will be the first such event in Taiwan and the world's only exhibition to bring together exhibitors from the motorcycle industry. Specifically, major exhibition themes at Motorcycle Taiwan 2006 will include complete vehicles (motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, electric scooters, and electric bicycles), engines and parts, vehicle frames, accessories, riding accessories, vehicle testing and inspection equipment, and noise and emissions testing equipment.

According to this article, one manufacturer that will be exhibiting at the show is Unilli Motor Co., Ltd., a specialized maker of ATVs and karts that was established in 1980. The company's ATVs feature high quality and performance and have won many races. For example, the company's CX100 cross model took first place in the 90cc-125cc class of a recent major Norwegian ATV race. It also placed first in the British Championship 2006 ATV race. Most significantly, the company makes the best-selling 50cc ATV model, the AX/CX/DX Model, in the Japanese market.

Unilli's original core business was motorcycle engine development and manufacturing. However, the company diversified into designing and manufacturing ATVs and karts several years ago. Currently, Unilli supplies five series of ATVs and several fun-kart models, with engine displacements ranging from 49cc to 250cc. Most of these models have met the 92/61/EEC homologation rules for the European market, as well as the ANSI/SVIA-1-2001 regulations for the U.S. market.

Meanwhile, Access Motor Co. is internationally famous with its high-quality, heavy-duty twin-seat ATVs for various challenging road conditions. The company plans to demonstrate three new ATV models at Motorcycle Taiwan 2006, which are a 250cc sports model, a 250cc utility model, and the ST100LL model.

According to Access, its ATVs feature state-of-the-art styling and powerful engine performance. These features have placed the company's vehicles on an equal performance footing with top-level counterparts that are made by big Japanese brands.

Finally, Amstrong Industry Corp. is a newcomer in the ATV business. The company claims that the annual ATV demand from the market in North America is expected to be around 800,000 units in the near future, while demand for related parts and accessories is also expected to gradually grow. As a result, the company has been aggressively developing high-end products. It plans to demonstrate a 250cc axle-transmission model at Motorcycle Taiwan 2006.

According to the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, Motorcycle Taiwan 2006 as the first international motorcycle show in Taiwan has four major goals. They are Showcasing the Capability of "Made by Taiwan", Motorcycle Design and Innovation, ATV Trends, and Tuning and Performance Enhancing Parts. In general, the show is expected to attract 120 exhibitors, who will use about 300 booths to showcase their high-quality, new and innovative products.
