E-Tone Solar Tech lands five-year order from Solaria

This article was published by the Taiwan Headlines on September 6, 2006. It reports that Taiwan's solar-cell supplier, E-Tone Solar Tech, recently signed a five-year pact to supply Spanish cell-module maker Solaria with cells.

Solaria is currently the world's No.2 cell-module supplier. According to the deal, E-Tone will supply the cells bearing power storage capacity of 180 megawatts from 2007 to 2011. It is estimated that the order will inject over NT$10 billion (US$312.5 million) to E-Tone's revenue.

More importantly, the order is expected to give a big boost to E-Tone at a time when supply of poly silicon, the material for making the cells, is estimated to likely exceed demand after 2008.

E-Tone had revenue of NT$314 million (US$9.8 million) for July and NT$323 million (US$10 million) for August 2006. Throughout the first months of 2006, the company had total revenue of NT$1.8 billion (US$58 million), increasing 240 percent year-on-year.
