Japan's ULVAC moves into science park

Japan's ULVAC recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Industrial Development Bureau under Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs. The Japanese company will invest US$32 million to set up a plant in the Southern Taiwan Science Park to supply new-generation thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display (TFT-LCD) production equipment to Taiwanese makers of flat-panel displays.

According to this article, ULVAC as a company is a leading supplier of vacuum equipment and peripheral devices for the flat-panel displays, semiconductor and other industries.
