Huashan Recreation Area

The Huashan Recreation Area is located in Gukeng Township in west-central Taiwan's Yunlin County. The area is Taiwan's best-known coffee-growing region, where Arabica coffee from Africa has been successfully planted.

The coffee of Gukeng has a slightly bitter taste that quickly turns sweet in the mouth. This gives the coffee here its unique flavor. All kinds of coffee shops have sprung up to bring a new industry to the area, while young people and lovers are particularly fond of the night scene.

Also in the area is the "Paper-Making Street", which is the only place in Taiwan that preserves the purely natural traditional method of making paper by hand.
