Wuling Veteran's Farm

Wuling Veteran's Farm is located in Wufong Township in central Taiwan's Taichung County. It is about 29 kilometers from Lishan on the Central Cross-Island Highway and can be easily reached from Hehuan Mountain.

Wuling Veteran's Farm was established in 1963 to provide employment for retired servicemen. It covers more than 700 hectares of land and is at an altitude of 1,740-2,100 meters. Here, high-mountain fruits (such as pears, peaches and apples), vegetables (such as cabbage and spinach) and tea (a special kind of Oolung) are grown. The spectacular scenery of the surrounding mountains, with nice walking tracks to scenic spots such as the 50-meter Taushan Waterfall, creates an oasis of tranquility.

Local and international visitors are welcome to Wuling Veteran's Farm all year round. In spring and early summer there are blossoming fruit orchards, and in summer and autumn there is the abundance of harvest.

Most significantly, Wuling Veteran's Farm is home to a very rare variety of land-locked salmon that is called the Formosan Salmon. They can be found in the Chijiawan Creek Ecological Protection Area here in the farm.
