Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area

The Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area was established in 2001. It combines the beauties of three major tourist destinations in central Taiwan -- the Lion's Head Mountain Scenic Area, the Li Mountain, and the Bagua Mountain Scenic Area.

The Lion's Head Mountain Scenic Area covers a total of 7,900 hectares and encompasses the Wuchi Mountain and Nankeng resort systems as well as the Lion's Head Mountain itself. The Li Mountain Scenic Area covers 31,300 hectares of land and takes in the Shiyuan Pass and Gukuan resort systems as well as the Li Mountain. The Bagua Mountain Scenic Area covers 22,000 hectares, including the Baiguo Mountain and Songboling resort systems as well as the Bagua Mountain.

The Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area is renowned for its numerous tea fields, tourist fruit orchards, and alpine vegetable farms. These tourist spots are both educational and recreational, with a focus on native culture, ecology and sustainability. More significantly, the Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area features great mountains, clear lakes, interesting native plants and animals, good weather, convenient location, and rich ecological resources. Particularly fascinating are the lifestyles and historical artifacts of the Hakka, the aboriginal, and the Taiwanese (originated from southern Fujian province in Mainland China) peoples.
