Fushoushan Veteran's Farm

Fushoushan Veteran's Farm is located in Fushou Mountain (Fushou Shan), within the northern section of Mt. Hehuan in Taichung County. It is near Lishan, the midpoint of Taiwan's Central Cross-Island Highway.

In 1950, the government in Taiwan appointed retired soldiers to cultivate a new farm in Fushou Mountain, which is an ideal place to grow apples, peaches, pears and vegetables. The farm is 6 kilometers away from Lishan, about 1,800 to 2,500 meters in altitude. The total area is about 900 hectares.

Besides fruits and vegetables, the Fushoushan Veteran's Farm also grows tea and flowers. The farm therefore consists of many vegetable gardens, flower gardens, tea plantations and orchards.

The Lishan Culture Museum on the Fushoushan Veteran's Farm presents documents that record the development of the Central Cross-Island Highway and Lishan. It also features plenty of local aboriginal artifacts. Meanwhile, Sung Lu, the resort villa of late president Chiang Kai-shek, is also located within the farm. Pine trees surround the villa as part of the farm's beautiful scenery.
