Nantou County -- Introduction

 

Nantou County lies at the geographical heart of Taiwan. It is the only county on the island that does not border the coast.

Nantou County covers an area of 410 square kilometers of mainly mountainous country. Its abundant natural beauty makes it an excellent place for sightseeing. The county is blessed with a number of interesting towns, forested mountains and clear streams at Shitou, Shanlinshi and the Sun Moon Lake. Another famous tourist spot is the Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village.
