Budai Salt Flats

Budai Township in west-central Taiwan's Chiayi County is famous for its salt farms. These farms are busiest between March and May every year, when the sun is strongest and rain is scarce. Walking by the seashore, local and international visitors can see white mounds of sand. They can also taste the salt as it is wafted inland on the wind.
