Lungshan Temple
The temple's architecture is a three-section design in shape. There are the front hall, the rear hall and the right and left dragons protecting the middle hall. The layout is square and serene. The Lungshan Temple was built in the Ching Dynasty. It was restored several times after a series of natural disasters and human damages. The temple's doors, beams and poles are beautifully decorated. There are a pair of delicate bronze dragon poles in the front hall, and another four pairs of dragon poles in the middle hall. There are also exquisite wood sculptures. Among them, the wishing well and the Guanyin setting in the main hall are highly appreciated.
There are great decorative lamp fairs and temple activities in the Lungshan Temple during festivals. On the 1st and 15th days of each lunar month, regular religious believers come to the temple to worship. The temple also attracts many local and international tourists. The Lungshan Temple is not only a temple and a sightseeing attraction, but also a second-degree historical site. There are traditional streets, antique shops, Buddhists article shops and Chinese medicine shops surrounding the temple. These places are great to visit because of their richness in folk art. The Lungshan Temple is located in Taipei City's Kuanzhou Street. Visitors can take the Bannan Line of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) network and get off at the Lungshan Temple station. |
