Mt. Dajian (Dajianshan)

Mt Dajian (Dajianshan), or MT Big Point, is located in Hengchun Township in southern Taiwan's Pingtung County. It stands 318 meters high, and is the symbol and foremost landmark of the Kenting National Park.

The mountain's appearance varies with the angle and distance from which it is viewed. Although at first it looks as if it would be impossible to climb, it is actually very easy to get to the mountain's top. As a matter of fact, there are two ways to do so -- a steeper hiking trail to the south and a gentler walking path to the north. Both paths can be reached from the entrance to the Kenting Forest Recreation Area.

Once reaching the top of MT Dajian, one is rewarded with a magnificent view of the green pasturelands of the farms beneath, as well as that of the blue ocean near South Bay.
