Maobitou

Maobitou is located in Hengchun Township in southern Taiwan's Pingtung County. Its name literally means "Cat's Nose" in Chinese.

Maobitou is one of the two promontories that form the southernmost part of Taiwan. (The other promontory is Eluanbi.) The area is famous because the rock cliffs here are said to resemble a crouching cat. From a pavilion on top of Maobitou, it is possible to look across the length of Kenting's southern coastline and the hills that rise above it. At a closer view, geological formations such as the so-called Skirt Coast also provide considerable natural beauty.

Maobitou is an excellent place for a picnic. There are also a number of shops there that provide local and international visitors with daily necessities.
