Chuanfanshi (Sail Rock)

Chuanfanshi, or Sail Rock, is located in Hengchun Township in southwestern Taiwan's Pingtung County. The rock looks like a sailing ship from the distance. More interestingly, some people insist that when looked closely, the rock resembles the profile of former U.S. President Richard Nixon. The rock is therefore also known as "Nixon's Head".

Sail Rock is about 18 meters high and composed of coral reefs. Judged by its harder topography when compared with nearby reefs tableland in its primary stage, the rock may have stood there for a long time.
