Eighteen Arhats Mountain (Shiba Luohanshan)

The Eighteen Arhats Mountain (Shiba Luohanshan) lies next to Kaohsiung County's Laonung River, in Liouguei Township. It consists of more than 40 mountains. Years of erosion have resulted in its rough geography. Legends say that the eighteen arhats will safeguard local people and their wealth, but the people will be punished if they spend the money elsewhere.

The mountain has very special geographical and geological characters. The best places where one can appreciate the mountain are the outlook points along the hiking tracks. With Laonung River running by, the mountain presents spectacular scenery. There are macaques in the mountain as well.
