At
the highest spot of the Southern Cross-Island Highway (2,700 meters from
sea level), at the border of Kaohsiung and Taitung counties, is Daguanshan
Tunnel, which is 600 meters in length. At the eastern end of the tunnel
is Yakou, from which one can have a nice view on the large Guanshan cliff
in the distance.
