Liouho Tourist Night Market

The Liouho Tourist Night Market is one of Kaohsiung City's most important tourist attractions. Since as early as 1950, stalls have been coming to station in Kaohsiung City's Takangpu and Hsinhsing districts, finally forming the well-known "Takangpu Night Market". It was later renamed as the Liouho Night Market.

The night market, on Liouho Road, is not far away from the Kaohsiung Railway Station. The market is a straight road during the daytime, but turns into a prosperous market area at night. There are 138 stalls in the market, most of which serve snacks and provide entertainment and games for recreation. In particular, the dozens of steak houses booming around the market offer beef steaks at reasonable prices or family-size package meals. No matter what one likes to have, a variety of delicious food, specialties, cold drinks, ices and seafood dishes here are offered for his or her choice. One should not miss the papaya milk and steamed salty shrimps. On the other hand, garments, apparels and groceries are rarely seen here.
