Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park
The Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park is located at the border of Kaohsiung City's Nantzu District and Kaohsiung County's Chiaotou Township. The park occupies an area of approximately 35 hectares, including vast and flat grassland and forests. The park's facilities include a decorated swimming pool, an ecological exhibition center, parent-children playrooms, and a library. The well-designed sculpture of "Golden Rooster Sundial", one of the twelve Chinese zodiac animals, stands tall at the park's Central Square and serves as an eye-catching landmark of the park. There is also a bronze cast illustration of the sundial's shadow on the ground. The Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park is under the administration of the Ministry of the Interior's Construction and Planning Agency. It used to be a landfill. Today, the trees and flowers are luxuriant and well looked-after in the park, and the grassland is emerald green. All kinds of public lectures and parent-children entertainment activities frequently take place in the park. |
