Noise PollutionAs introduced by the Yearbook of the Republic of China:
In order to coordinate with the implementation of the administrative procedural law to elevate the level of related laws or regulations or to add to the basis of authorization, the government revised the Noise Control Act in two stages. The first stage of revision, promulgated on January 8, 2003, stipulates degrees of influence of aviation noise and that military aviation regulatory authorities should, after consulting with local governments, formulate plans for improving aviation noise pollution and adopting appropriate prevention measures at airports specifically for military use. It also stipulates that special municipality, county, and city governments are responsible for re-examining and formulating plans for the use and development of the land within the various levels of aviation noise control areas. The Executive Yuan has already approved and sent it to the Legislative Yuan for the second stage revision of the Noise Control Act in August 2003. The most important change of the act is the addition of regulations for the traffic regulatory agencies to improve traffic noise pollution. |
