Cihu (Tzuhu)

Cihu (Tzuhu) is situated in Dasi Township in northern Taiwan's Taoyuan County. It is where the mausoleum of late president Chiang Kai-shek is located.

Late president Chiang Kai-shek died in 1975. He used to visit Cihu (Tzuhu) and thought that the area's beautiful scenery was similar to that of his hometown in Chekiang Province in Mainland China. He named the place Cihu (Tzuhu), which means "Lake of Kindness" in Chinese, for it often reminded him of his mother. When Chiang's son, late president Chiang Ching-kuo, died in 1988, he was also laid to rest here.

Visitors can view the granite case in which the body of late President Chiang has been placed. It is customary to give a respectful bow. It should be noted that visitors are not allowed to take photographs inside the mausoleum. However, outside the mausoleum, the scenery around the lake is quite beautiful.
