Longmen Camping Site

Longmen Camping Site is located near the lower reaches of the Shuangshi River, the largest river running through Taiwan's Northeast Coast. It is the best-equipped campground in Taiwan. Every year thousands of local and international campers come here to enjoy the site's beautiful scenery and convenient facilities.

The campground was once a barren and windy site of a former quarry. The area has since been greened and the sand dunes leveled, in order to turn this site into a seaside resort. Because the site is near the banks of a river, there are numerous sandbars, deep pools, river shallows, rapid currents and countless species of animals. The lush natural vegetation growing along the river adds to the beauty of the campground.

In Longmen Camping Site, campers can choose from a variety of campsites, including grass, wooden platforms, roofed wooden platforms, automobile campsites, and log cabins. The 231 campsites can accommodate more than 1,000 campers. More importantly, since food, lodging and other necessities are available right in the campground, visitors can come empty-handed and still have a very enjoyable stay here. In 1991, participants from all over the world came to join the FICC International Camping Rally here.

In addition to camping, Longmen Camping Site offers water sports such as rafting and fishing. Campers can also access Yanliao Beach by foot or bike via a 200-meter-log suspension bridge connecting with the campground.
