Yanliao Coastal Park

Yanliao Coastal Park is located in Gongliao Township in Taipei County. It is the most spacious recreational area on Taiwan's Northeast Coast. It is also home to some of the most beautiful golden beaches in Taiwan, and has the most extensive facilities, including a South Seas-themed cafe and a well-designed waterfront pond.

Yanliao's sandy beach stretches three kilometers all the way to Fulong in its south, making it the longest beach in Taiwan. The beach is not steep, while the waves are gentle. This is the ideal spot for a diverse range of seaside activities, including swimming, fishing, sand sculpture, and beach volleyball.

When the Japanese began their colonial occupation of Taiwan in 1895, Yanliao was where they landed. A monument near the beach commemorates those brave Taiwanese souls who sacrificed their lives resisting the occupation.

In the future, Yanliao will be linked with Fulong into a complete recreational system, including lookout platforms, walkways, and bicycle paths, so that visitor can have a wide range of leisure options in addition to swimming. The most famous seafood dish here is clams.
