Yingge Ceramics Museum
The museum is constructed with modern materials and transparent glass, presenting a limitless sense of space and the beauty of simplicity. This special structure also enhances the museum's exhibition, which features 200 years of ceramic techniques and folk culture in Taiwan. The museum's educational function is utilized with the aid of modern technology, making it an ideal place for families and students to visit. The musem's Traditional Ceramics Hall presents traditional ceramic techniques and tools. On the museum's second floor, the history of pottery is exhibited, with a special section on Taiwanese pottery works. Various characteristics and functions of these pottery works are presented, showing how pottery interacts with life. The museum's Children Experiencing Room is an experimental pottery area designed for children aged from 4 to 8. Children can experience and play freely with the clay in this area. In addition, there is a pottery workshop for ceramic artists and experts to exchange their artistic experiences and views. Ceramic works are widely used in today's world, from artificial teeth, computers, telephones, cell phones, to cylinders. In the museum's Future World, visitors can see how pottery develops into elements and materials for modern technology and how it will be utilized in the future. The Yingge Ceramics Museum is located in Taipei County's Yingge Township. It opens from 9:30am to 5pm from Tuesday to Friday, and from 9am to 6pm on public holidays.
