Wulai
The residents of Wulai are mostly aboriginal people, of the Tai Ya (Atayal) Tribe. It is said that Wulai is a term used by the tribe, which means hot spring. The famous Wulai Waterfall is about 80 meters high. It is magnificant, like a white silk scarf flowing down from the sky. There is a sightseeing trail train that takes visitors to the base of the waterfall. Visiters can then take a cable car back to the top of the waterfall and appreciate its beauty from a short distance. The aboriginal cultural center across the Wulai Waterfall is a museum of aboriginal folk art. The museum introduces the culture, customs and habits of the Tai Ya (Atayal) Tribe and demonstrates many of its historical artifacts.
