Taian Hot Springs
Taian Hot Springs is located in Taian Township in northern Taiwan's Miaoli County. It was called Takeshima Hot Spring during the Japanese colonial occupation of Taiwan (1895-1945), then Hushan Hot Spring after the Second World War. In 1978, the late president Chiang Ching-kuo visited the hot spring and renamed it as Taian. Nearby Taian Hot Springs are Hushan Hot Spring and Tenglong Hot Spring, whose waters share the same origin. The water in this area is abundant, colorless and odorless. It is said to be the best hot spring region in Taiwan. The natural scenery in this area makes the hot springs even more attractive. The cherry blossoms are graceful in good seasons, and there are grand mountain views in Hushan and Henglongshan, whose peaks are 1,500 meters above sea level. |
