Kinmen official asks airlines for overseas flights

 

This article was published by the Taiwan Headlines on August 31, 2006. It reports that Kinmen County officials recently urged Taiwan's aviation companies to help better connect Kinmen with the rest of the world by setting up air links between the island and overseas destinations.

Kinmen County officials expressed their hope that carriers can step up air travel services between Kinmen and Taiwan proper. Carriers can also help Kinmen develop local tourism by opening more international routes.

With the start of operations of the Taiwan High Speed Railway in October 2006, Kinmen is set to play a bigger role in air travel between the outlying islands and Taiwan proper. The Kinmen County Government is poised to explore the island's potential in global travel.

Kinmen County officials urged Taiwan's aviation companies to help the island lure more foreign tourists by setting up more flight services from Kinmen to overseas destinations.
