Announcement of the Results of the 2007 PATA Annual Conference Logo Contest
This article was provided by the Tourism Bureau in Taiwan. The 2007 Annual Conference of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) will be held in Taipei City. In preparation for hosting the event, the Tourism Bureau and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications in Taiwan recently organized a conference logo design contest, seeking submissions that highlight the qualities of the host city Taipei. The Pacific Asia Travel Association is Asia's most important tourism organization. With the conference logo design contest, the organizers were looking for representations of Taipei's technological innovation, cultural diversity, hospitality, fine cuisine, and abundant tourism resources. In the end, three winners were chosen out of a total of 32 design submissions. The Gold Prize winning design joins Taipei's landmark buildings such as the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the Taipei 101 skyscraper, with a chopstick motif conveying the hospitality and fine cuisine of the city. The Silver Prize winning design joins the natural landscapes of Guanyinshan (Guanyin Mountain) and the Danshui River with the more modern urban image of the Taipei 101 skyscraper to convey Taipei's abundant tourism resources. The Bronze Prize winning design features the Taipei 101 skyscraper as a symbol of Taipei's technological innovation, along with calligraphic-style colored clouds representing the fusion of East and West in Taipei. |
