Japan extends visa-free policy for Taiwanese visitors

This article was written by Cecilia Fanchiang and published by the Taiwan Journal on September 30, 2005. It reports that the Japanese Cabinet recently decided to give ROC passport holders visa-free entry to the country, beginning on September 26. The government in Taiwan has welcomed the decision.

From now on, ROC passport holders are able to enter Japan as temporary visitors for a period of 90 days, for the purposes of business, pleasure or family visits, without obtaining a visa beforehand.

This change is expected to greatly substantiate development of all-embracing exchanges between Taiwan and Japan, particularly in the areas of trade, economy, science and technology, culture and education.
