The
Liyu (Carp) Mountain Park can be easily reached by foot. Just follow Bo-ai
Road from behind the railway station, cross the railroad, and you are
soon there. It is located on a small hill named for its supposed resemblance
to a carp. The top of the hill provides a sweeping panorama of the Taitung
area. The Lungfeng Buddhist Temple at the foot of the hill, together with
the Martyrs' Shrine and the park, constitute a scenic little tourist package.
